For those who have taken an Antarctica21 trip, how did you pay. Their materials say I should pay with a wire transfer or a major credit card via paypal. This seems odd to me. What payment method did you use?

We were able to pay by wire or PayPal for a small fee. We ultimately use PayPal and pay the fee because it allows us to use a credit card and earn airline miles. I know it sounds …

We were able to pay by wire or PayPal for a small fee. We ultimately use PayPal and pay the fee because it allows us to use a credit card and earn airline miles. I know it sounds sketchy, but I think the reason they do this is because they are operating out of a foreign country. We have no issues with our payment and everything went through fine and they delivered on the cruise. We had an amazing trip.

We have a small amount of extra time (~4 days) on top of our express air cruise to spend in Chile and Argentina. Any recommendations on how to spend that time? We depart from Ushuaia and come back through Punta Arenas. We could do 1 day in Ushuaia & 3 in Chile, 2 and 2, or 3 and 1. I would love any recommendations you have. We are open to traveling, as well, but it just has to be able to fit within those relatively tight timelines.

First of all, I wouldn’t waste money on the express cruise. What a nightmare to only have one day in Antarctica. Drop the other days in these other places and pony up for the longer itinerary! We had nine days of which six were landings in Antarctica and we felt like we could have stayed much longer. We barely got to see everything we wanted to see so one day would be far far far too short and wasted effort.

Hello Jonisharps! It is difficult to say how often the flights are delayed in February as the weather in Antarctica is completely unpredictable and there is no pattern that can tell us whether the flight is more or less likely to be delayed. That said, we usually recommend for our travellers to book their return flights from Punta Arenas either in the afternoon on the last day of their trip, or the next day, to give themselves the extra buffer.
