We were docked here for the day on an e-bike tour and due to rain did a walking tour of the old city. Beautiful, narrow streets, cafes, restaurants, shops. Delightful town to spend the day and have…Full review by lauries614

Korcula is amazing! We really enjoyed the day we walked around the island, and learned that Marco Polo might have come from here as Korcula was part of Venice in his lifetime. Regardless, the island …Full review by Faithfultravelerrev

Where do I pick up a ferry for the korcula island trip? How long is the ferry ride and how often are the ferries?
A:
There is the catamaran to korcula from Dubrovnik which takes 2hours and costs around £30 return. We only did the trip from korcula to Dubrovnik but you can check the times online
I am planning on renting a car to drive from Dubrovnik to Korcula as a daytrip. Questions: is the road OK? Can I go with the car to the island or do I have to leave it in the mainland? How is parking in Korcula like? Thank you in advance

It will be a long day trip !. Roads are fine but narrow and winding in places thus takes a while to travel - a good 2 hours without stopping if lucky to the ferry. You then need to time it with the ferry's which are great and easy to use with the car, only hiccup being if there is an emergency and ambulances are needed on the island they get preference and travel solo and cars get left behind as happened to us. Beautiful island so its worth staying and spending time there
I'm torn between staying near the Old Town or Lumbarda. I want relaxation but I like easy access to places where I can have a wander in the evenings - find a nice bar or restaurant (or 2). Is the Old Town overrun with cruise ship traffic? Is Lumbarda cut off from the Old Town in the evenings? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, we stayed in the Old Town and enjoyed every minute of it! We took a bus to Lumbarda (7km from Korcula town) to go for a swim and we were looking for a sandy beach. We were there beginning of Sept. 2018 and we never felt that it was over crowded.
The catamaram takes around two hours. The journey costs 130 Kuna (app. 18€). In the summer there are connections at 7am and 4pm from Dubrovnik's main harbour.
