Bobcat Bonnie's, a Michigan-based chain that opened a Lansing location last year, has closed its Detroit's Corktown restaurant.

The latest Bobcat Bonnie’s location to shutter is the original contemporary bar and restaurant on Michigan in Corktown. Owner Matt Buskard confirmed the immediate closing in a statement Tuesday afternoon, adding that the two remaining locations in Ferndale and Lansing will continue to operate.

This decision is heartbreaking, but we must make one based on where things are currently in the economy," he said.

The closure leaves Bobcat Bonnie’s with two locations, in Ferndale and Lansing. The end of the Corktown location marks the fourth Bobcat Bonnie’s to close since last summer, joining restaurants in Clinton Township, Ypsilanti and Wyandotte. A Grand Rapids location closed in December, but plans call for a new location in downtown Grand Rapids.
