With certain elements from the DCEU still being canon in the DC Universe franchise, DC Studios' James Gunn clarifies how the two timelines connect.

According to Bloody-Disgusting, the late Return of the Living Dead actors James Karen and Don Calfa will appear in Linnea Quigley’s meta-sequel, Trash’s Revenge, “with the magic of CGI.” In response to a fan on Threads (via Screen Rant ), James Gunn confirmed he’s now “pre-writing” his next DCU project after Superman and Peacemaker season two.

The DCU restructuring under James Gunn was essential after the sorry state of DCEU, but it ended several promising projects as well.
