The Florida Legislature rejected some of Gov. Ron DeSantis' proposals for an immigration bill and, in the name of Donald Trump, introduced its own.

Florida lawmakers passed a sweeping immigration bill Tuesday, setting aside half a billion dollars in public funds to help carry out President Donald Trump 's crackdown on those in the country illegally.

The Legislature passed the Tackling and Reforming Unlawful Migration Policy Act — or “TRUMP Act” — that would eliminate in-state tuition waivers for undocumented students, create stricter punishments for undocumented immigrants committing crimes and make other reforms.
