Thursday night's game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte Hornets was postponed by the NBA, the league announced, as firefighters continued to battle wildfires in the Southern California area.

The NHL’s Los Angeles Kings were the first to act, scrapping a scheduled Wednesday night game vs. the Calgary Flames at Crypto.com Arena. The Lakers of the NBA followed suit on Thursday, postponing a matchup with the Charlotte Hornets; makeup dates for the two contests haven’t been determined yet.

The game will be rescheduled at a later time as the NBA postpones it due to ongoing fires in the Los Angeles area.
