ESPN reporter Ramona Shelburne recently spoke on NBA Today about the post-deadline state of the Suns, stating: “The word I would use ... I’ll use toxic. That shootaround yesterday I heard was very awkward, very weird in Oklahoma City, because everybody was on pins and needles wondering what they were going to do (at the trade deadline).

While speaking to NBA on ESPN, Shams Charania shared that the Heat potentially had a window to go after Durant. They offered Jimmy Butler and Josh Richardson, which was not enough to get a deal done. The Suns were interested in trading for Butler this summer but could not engineer a suitable trade. Durant stayed put in Phoenix.
