The Senate voted along party lines Thursday to confirm Russell Vought as the next head of the Office of Management and Budget despite fierce pushback from Democrats.

Russell Vought sees the Office of Management and Budget as a “nerve center” that can be used to curtail DEI programs and purge the federal workforce of Trump’s perceived enemies.

Trump has named several people tied to Project 2025 to his administration, even after he disavowed the extreme policy agenda.

Vought was one of the architects of the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, a conservative blueprint for Trump’s second term.
