In dramatic video footage, a police officer can be seen shouting "fire" in an attempt to get people to safety in Calderwood Square.

Emergency services were called to the Calderwood Square area of the town at around 11.51pm on Saturday, January 25, after smoke was seen billowing from a first-floor property.

One of only three Scottish winners at this year's annual Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards 2024 (ARTA), Yakitori House in East Kilbride was named Asian Fusion Restaurant of the Year.
