According to NHL insider Chris Johnston, appearing on TSN's "OverDrive" on Tuesday, the organization has not ruled out the possibility of trading Elias Pettersson as the internal problems have gone nowhere and the forward has spent the season underperforming.

Boeser has had the most success of his Canucks tenure when riding shotgun with Miller. Miller’s playmaking ability down low was an excellent fit with Boeser’s finishing ability from the inner slot. With Miller gone, the risk and uncertainty around committing a six- or seven-year contract to Boeser increases.

It took the Vancouver Canucks a couple of months to negotiate and finally pull off a trade with one of their feuding stars. As the heat between Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller continued, both found themselves among potential trade pieces for the Canucks.
