Hundreds of homes are without power and flood alerts have been issued as Storm Herminia hits Wales. A Met Office alert for heavy rain began at midday Sunday and remains in place until the end of Monday.

Large parts of the UK and Ireland have fresh weather warnings in place for wind and rain as Storm Herminia is expected to first batter the southwest before sweeping across the country. It comes after Storm Éowyn claimed lives and caused disruption across the country as it reached peak wind speeds of 100mph.
