The Philadelphia Skating Club & Humane Society is grieving the loss of several beloved members who were among those killed in a fatal crash over the Potomac River near Washington, D.C., on Monday, Jan.

While driving home, Ari Shulman said a "spray of sparks" in the sky caught his attention as he watched in horror the midair collision unfold.

Investigators are analyzing the plane’s flight recorder data in a lab, and expect to produce a preliminary report on the crash in 30 days.

Some passengers of the American Airlines regional jet that collided with a military helicopter and crashed in Washington, D.C., have connections to the Philadelphia region.

An American Airlines flight and a military helicopter collided and crashed into the Potomac River near Reagan National Airport Wednesday evening.

Residents and visitors were told to not touch or remove debris from the Potomac River, as the investigation into the midair D.C. plane crash remains ongoing.

This afternoon the NTSB held its first briefing on the crash saying this was a very quick and rapid impact. Since Wednesday night they have been dealing with difficult conditions. Despite that, the DC fire chief says he is confident the remains of everyone involved will be found.

Robert Isom said said airline is focused on passengers, crew members, first responders, families and loved ones.

There were 64 passengers aboard the plane, and three Army soldiers in the helicopter, according to officials. Here's a look at what we know about the victims.
