Parts of Southern New England could catch the brunt of this quick-hitting storm, leaving many residents shoveling come Monday morning.

WATCHING THE WEEKEND An area of low pressure will develop east of the southern Rockies on Friday and will quickly track east across the South and Midwest. Surface winds have turned more southerly, transporting milder Gulf into the Southeast.

Temperatures will warm on Saturday and rain will swing during the late afternoon and evening with Bay State communities seeing between a quarter and half inch of precipitation. Skies are expected to clear out by Saturday night. Sunday, however, “is shaping up to be an interesting day,” according to Boston 25 Meteorologist Vicki Graf.
