In a series of executive orders Wednesday, Gov. Greg Abbott ordered state agencies to cooperate with President Donald Trump’s mass deportation efforts and directed the state’s criminal justice agency to identify land and facilities that could be used for detaining and deporting undocumented migrants.

AUSTIN — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, continuing a three-day series of border security-related actions, issued five executive orders Wednesday directing state agencies to assist President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement operations.

The governor said the teams will help find, arrest and deport people who entered the country illegally and have active warrants for their arrests.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday morning asked the Texas Department of Public Safety, or DPS, to deploy tactical strike teams to "support the Trump Administration’s homeland security operations to locate and arrest criminal illegal immigrants in the state.
