Audi is undoing some of the changes it planned to make to its naming strategy in regard to all-electric vehicles. Rather than having separate model designations for gas and electric cars, it will revert back to simply having the latter use the e-tron suffix to avoid having to rename a significant portion of its existing lineup.

The change comes just two years after Audi introduced distinct names for electric and internal combustion vehicles.

Audi has changed its model naming strategy yet again and at this stage, your head is likely spinning faster than a crankshaft on one of its combustion-engined cars. Speaking of, they won’t get a separate odd number to denote they’re gas-guzzling ICE cars anymore.
