"A Complete Unknown," the biopic chronicling the swift pop-cultural ascent of Minnesota native Bob Dylan in the early 1960s, has been nominated for eight Academy Awards.

Fade in on the bohemian straggler with a cigarette in one hand and a guitar case in the other. Although born Robert Zimmerman in humble Minnesota, the shy nomad reinvents himself in the city, taking on a radical and enigmatic artistic persona henceforth known as Bob Dylan.

Neil Young has given his verdict on the new Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown. The film, directed by Walk the Line ’s James Mangold, stars Timothée Chalamet as the Nobel Prize-winning singer-songwriter, during the period when he controversially “went electric”.

Bob Dylan's rich legacy of more than 50 albums is a counterpoint to "narcissistic" modern music focused on "me, me, me", the director of the recently released biopic about the singer told AFP.
