Appointed by President Donald Trump, Alice Marie Johnson said she will step down from her position as CEO of her Memphis-based nonprofit, Taking Action For Good, in her new role as 'pardon czar'.
Johnson, now 69, was facing life in prison without the possibility of parole for being a first-time nonviolent drug offender.
"This is my mission — to really give voice to the voiceless ... to help those who are unseen to be seen," said Alice Marie Johnson.
