India's injured quick Jasprit Bumrah will miss the five-match T20 international series with England, while Mohammad Shami has returned to the squad after more than a year out with an ankle injury, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) announced on Saturday.

Shami has not donned the Indian jersey since the 2023 World Cup final in Ahmedabad, following which he was sidelined due to an ankle injury requiring surgery.

The selectors have also opted for Dhruv Jurel as the second wicketkeeper in the squad with the in-form Sanju Samson being the first choice even as Rishabh Pant misses out on a spot
