The Vermont-born Ben & Jerry’s has long been associated with progressive politics and social justice causes — and has navigated a rocky road with Unilever for the past several years.

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield are reportedly looking to reacquire the beloved ice cream brand, claiming its corporate owner has muzzled the company’s social activism.

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Ben & Jerry’s says they will be rolling out two electric scoop trucks. The project is in collaboration with electric vehicle maker Rivian. The trucks will pop up in Vermont following their debut in Texas this week.

The Vermont-based ice cream maker said its new all-electric trucks will be built on the Rivian Commercial Van and are a modernization of its existing ice cream trucks.
