The Pittsburgh Pirates are acquiring their second right-hander pitcher of the week. After trading for right-hander Brett de Geus from the Toronto Blue Jays, the Pirates dipped back into the American League East and are landing right-hander Chase Shugart from the Boston Red Sox,

The Pittsburgh Pirates continue making moves this offseason, including looking for players on other teams. Robert Murray of FanSided reported that

“The Pittsburgh Pirates are acquiring right-hander Chase Shugart in a trade with the Boston Red Sox for right-hander Matt McShane, according to sources familiar with the deal. Shugart was recently designated for assignment by the Red Sox,” Murray wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
