Bregman stands as perhaps the best position player available in free agency with less than a month before the beginning of Spring Training, and he reportedly still has a standing six-year, $156 million offer from Houston.

According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, the Toronto Blue Jays have a contract offer out in the six-year range for third baseman Alex Bregman, one of the top-ranked free agents still left on the board with Spring Training just a few weeks away.

If Bregman is back in Houston, team sources indicated he would play third base in place of Isaac Paredes, whom the Astros acquired as part of the three-player package for Tucker. In that scenario, both Paredes and Altuve could face a position change.

The Astros are eager to bring Alex Bregman back to Houston and have offered him a new contract. According to the renowned New York Post columnist Jon Heyman, the Texas team’s management is ready to strike a deal with the All-Star third baseman from the MLB for $156 million over six years.
