The New Year’s fireworks explosion in Aliamanu has claimed a sixth life. Honolulu police confirmed a 30-year-old woman died just before 6 a.m. Wednesday at a local hospital. She has not been identified.

Two mothers and two fathers were arrested Wednesday in connection with the Jan. 1 explosion of a large stash of illegal aerial fireworks in Aliamanu that killed five people and wounded dozens of others.

Almost one month after an explosion rocked an Aliamanu home a fifth person has died from their injuries. HPD reports a 29-year-old man died at the Arizona hospital where he was being treated for injuries from the incident.
