Drake has filed to withdraw a pre-trial petition against Universal Music Group and Spotify in Manhattan, sparking reactions on X.

Back in November 2024, Drake shocked the hip-hop community after be filed a pre-action case against UMG and Spotify. Drake’s accusation of payola and colluding to “artificially inflate” the popularity of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “ Not Like Us ” was not taken lightly. Both UMG and Spotify released statement denying Drake’s claims.

In a federal lawsuit on Wednesday, Drake accused Universal Music Group of putting his life and reputation at risk by releasing and promoting the popular diss track.

But when Lamar's "Not Like Us" diss track went viral and topped music charts globally, Drake reacted by alleging Spotify and UMG came up with an illegal scheme to boost the song.
