A storm is expected later this week, but instead of snow, the Kansas City area will experience rain due to the arrival of warmer temperatures, according to the National Weather Service in Kansas City. The warmer temperatures will also keep the metro from experiencing a rare event.

Warmer winds will keep conditions mild in Kansas City for the remainder of January. Overnight lows will only drop into the 20s and 30s, while high temperatures will reach the 40s and could potentially climb into the lower 50s. There’s a chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm on Thursday heading into Friday.
