Nvidia's RTX 5070 GPU has shown up in a new benchmark, and it already falls way behind RTX 4090 performance, despite the company's claims of having "4090 performance at $549."

At $549, the RTX 5070 will also come up against AMD’s new $549 Radeon RX 9070 and $599 Radeon RX 9070 XT when they launch on March 6th. If AMD manages to beat Nvidia’s RTX 5070 or come close to the $749 RTX 5070 Ti, that’s going to put a lot of much-needed pressure on Nvidia’s pricing.

Nvidia's unmistakable Founders Edition brand identity makes this RTX 5070 look precisely like the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition and the GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition. This housing gives the card a premium look and feel, though as I will discuss later, it also leads to suboptimal thermal performance.
