Malachai Martin is accused of second-degree murder in the Sept. 4 shooting of 21-year-old Malik Wilkerson. Court records show officers arrested Martin on Jan. 9 in an unrelated domestic violence assault case in Multnomah County and then identified him as the suspect in the killing.

Gibson was fatally shot in the chest around 11:19 p.m. while inside her home on the corner of the 300 block of Hummel Street, next to Swatara Street. Police said someone shooting from the street killed Gibson. She was not believed to be the intended target.
