Did you feel it? 4.8 magnitude earthquake reported in West Texas
At 1:33 p.m., a 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit southwest of Ackerly. USGS said it was 4.2 miles in depth. A second earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 was located south, southeast of Ackerly. This occurred at 3:47 p.m. and was 2.6 miles in depth, USGS reports.

4.8 magnitude earthquake rattles near Midland, Texas on Friday
Several areas around Midland reported feeling the earthquake, as did some parts of Southern New Mexico, including Roswell, Carlsbad and Alamogordo. The earthquake happened at 12:33 MT/1:33 CT, on Friday, Feb. 28, about 16 miles southwest of Ackerly, Texas, according to the United States Geological Survey.

Magnitude 4.8 earthquake rattles West Texas
ACKERLY, Texas – A magnitude 4.8 earthquake shook a wide swath of of West Texas on Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake struck around 1:30 p.m. local time about 16 miles southwest of Ackerly and about 27 miles northeast of Midland. Its epicenter was located about 4 miles underground.
Updated information from the USGS shows a 4.8M quake with a depth of about four miles occurred at 1:33 p.m. in Martin County.
