DELEON SPRINGS, Fla. — Deputies in Volusia County jumped into action Tuesday to save a man on an out-of-control boat. Deputies said the man driving the boat had suffered a medical episode and was lying unconscious on the boat’s deck. People spotted that boat spinning in circles on Lake Dias in DeLeon Springs.

Volusia County, FL first responders conducted a daring rescue on Lake Dias where a boat was spinning out of control with an unresponsive man on board.
Dramatic rescue: Unconscious man saved from spinning, out-of-control boat in Volusia County
Crews were able to get close enough for Volusia County Fire Rescue Acting Division Chief and Technical Rescue Deputy Team Leader John Kyp to jump on board, stop the boat and get the patient to shore for further treatment. The man is expected to make a full recovery, VSO said.

A boat spinning in circles with an unresponsive boater prompted a rescue mission from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office and firefighters.
Volusia County Rescue teams were called to Lake Dias on Tuesday after receiving a distressing call about a boat spinning in circles.
Rescue teams both in the air and on water were able to locate the boat quickly and made note of an unconscious man on the floor. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
