Understanding 4K monitor and OS scaling. Best size to have sharp …
Aug 29, 2010 · A 32" 4k monitor still offers a ~30% pixel density increase over my 27" 1440p display, despite sizing up. 130PPI already begs for scaling, at 160PPI you will have problems even navigating to the scaling settings to enable it to begin with.
32 inch 4k monitor - [H]ard|Forum
Mar 22, 2022 · I'm looking for a 27-32 inch (ideally 32 inch), 4K, 144Hz/240Hz, 1ms, HDMI 2.1 PC monitor. I have done a good bit of digging online but wondering which one is the best to go with? (i.e. which one has the least amount of issues) The information in the image below was taken from the specifications page of each supplier's screen on their webpages.
32" 4K, or 27" 4K - Can't decide - [H]ard|Forum
Oct 6, 2009 · If I get a 27" 4K, the PPI will be 163, so text (on a good IPS screen anyway) should be super sharp at native resolution. Possible downside is having to increase the Windows scaling up to perhaps 150% ? And 1080p movies may not map properly on a 1440p screen? (not sure). If I get a 32" 4k, the PPI will be 137, and text will still be fairly sharp.
32" 4K monitor IPS vs VA - [H]ard|Forum
Sep 14, 2020 · For office work either of them is fine and 4k at 32" is sharp enough. 27" while nice at 4k has limited workspace compared to 32". If gaming is a priority I actually would get the IPS, VA screens tend to smear badly in dark scenes (I have the LG UD3259-B and is super smeary even visible while browsing the web).

Apr 13, 2005 · ~ Asus kicks off the party with what is arguably the best monitor ever made with the PG32UQX - 32 inch fast IPS is now a real thing. Also $3k. Whales rejoice. ~Acer - which was expected to match this offer with the X32 seems to have abandoned this price point, as has Viewsonic who promoted the XG321UG (both had the same stats as the Asus FALD ...
Ideal pixel density for a 4k monitor? - [H]ard|Forum
Jul 5, 2012 · It is ergonomic hell after the first weeks, at the very least invest as much as you can in good chair, desk and monitor arms. There is a huge gap in 4k sizes, from 32", which is too small, the next step is 40" ( 39.5"), which is like 4 20" 1080p screens glued together. anything smaller than 135PPI will require font scaling for reading ...
32 inch 16:9 or 34 inch 21:9 for gaming? - [H]ard|Forum
Nov 7, 2014 · I think with 32" 16:9, that monitor would be large enough to create the custom resolution of 2560x1080 and play with black bars on the top on bottom. I used to do this on my 4k monitor (only with higher custom resolutions) and the effect was the same.

Oct 20, 2020 · The 32-inch monitor sports mini LED backlighting for improved contrast and a 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution panel with a 160 Hz refresh rate. Asus says that the FALD backlighting features 576 independent zones, can hit a maximum of 1000 nits brightness and achieves 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
What's the point of 4k if you scale up the size of things?
. 4k is fine with 100-125% scaling at 28" and no scaling (100%) at 32", from experience and owning a 32" ips sst 60hz 4k monitor a couple of months now, and having used a 24" one since May 2014. I only had to shell out $675 for my 32" Acer B326HK, and have seen ones as cheaply as $750-850 since, perfectly reasonable for the tech.
A simple 4K question - monitor size and text size - [H]ard|Forum
Dec 16, 2006 · A 32" 3840x2160 display is ~140 PPI so text will be about 40% smaller than your current display. These monitors are designed to be used with scaling. The problem with the 27/32" UHD monitors is that non-integer scaling has a lot of problems. With 2x scaling, text then becomes too large on these displays, and your workspace shrinks to only ...
