A component of the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas was established in 1879 to prosecute federal crimes and represent federal agencies in matters in North Texas.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas proudly serves more than 7 million residents, many of whom make their home in San Antonio, Austin, or El Paso. In addition, we serve residents who live in small border towns, on Fort Hood, the largest active duty armored post, or in the wide open spaces of west Texas.
