FACT: The fifth largest lake in BC, Kootenay Lake is a long, narrow and deep fjord-like lake and influences vineyards in this wine region. FACT: The most planted grape varietal in the Kootenays is Pinot Noir, followed by other varieties including Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris and Maréchal Foch.
